Food for the Skin | Shiseido WASO Beauty Sleeping Mask

Geez I haven't had the time to sit down and write a proper post in ages, but of course, you all know why :) Anyhow, it feels really good to be back and I wanted to share with you the one product that has really helped me have the best skin possible on my wedding day; no breakouts, even tone and beautiful, plump skin! I'm not saying that my regular skin care products are no longer effective but sometimes a deeper treatment works wonders.

It's no secret that the more natural a product is, the more beneficial it is to us, and skincare is most definitely not an exception. I was recently introduced to the Shiseido WASO Beauty Sleeping Mask after winning a competition on the Sunday Circle, a magazine distributed with The Times of Malta which you can also read it by downloading the TOMag app and take part in their competitions to win fabulous prizes just like I did!

The WASO range by world-renowned Japanese skincare brand Shiseido, is inspired by the nation's Washoku food tradition - a holistic and natural approach to food. The range is comprised of products that contain carrot, loquat, tofu yuzu, honey and white jelly mushroom to balance, hydrate and prevent imperfections.

The packaging of the Shiseido WASO Beauty Sleeping Mask is very appealing in itself - the product is beautifully presented in a green glass coffret with a white lid that resembles a basket and it also comes in a green box, complete with a mini spatula. I like that they added the spatula for it makes for a more hygienic way to scoop the product rather than having to put my fingers in the pot.

The mask has a gel texture with little particles that burst upon application. I was glad that is has a gel consistency as this is what works best on my combination skin type. I have been using less than the recommended almond-sized amount on my face night in, night out for I find that is enough for me. I literally just apply the mask as the last step in my night skincare routine and sleep in it. In the morning I just wash my face as usual.

I have been using the mask for around 5 weeks now and I love the effect it has - I look like I have gotten a real good night's rest, not just the actual few hours. I haven't noticed any breakouts and I have to say that my skin tone looks more even. I don't find the mask to be sticky at all and it just nicely absorbs into my skin.

Shiseido also suggest you could use the mask as an actual face mask where you can apply a thicker layer and leave it on for 15 minutes. I personally haven't tried this method as at the moment I don't have the luxury to roam around the house with a face mask on; nonetheless, the night time application has been working a treat for my skin!

If you're looking for a luxury sleep mask, I would recommend you try the Shiseido WASO one for the simple reason that it actually does what it claims to and with the jar holding 80ml of product, you will definitely get your money's worth!
