MFWA 2016 | The Point Fashion Show

Day 2 of the sixth edition of the Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week and Awards took us to Fort St. Angelo in Vittoriosa - the Fashion Fortress, where all of the remaining shows during this week will take place.

32 brands housed in Malta's favourite fashion destination, The Point Shopping Mall showcased teasers from their current collections during an hour of me taking mental notes of what I need want to buy. The brands taking part were Sunlab, Armani, Tommy Hilfiger, Liu-Jo, Calvin Klein, Massimo Dutti, Tommy Hilifiger Shoes and Accessories, Aldo, Guess, Gant and Lacoste, Mango, Boux Avenue, Mvintage, Urban Jungle, Springfield, Nike, Pull & Bear, Calliope, Adidas, Sketchers, Punt Roma, Terranova, Oysho, Bata, Orsay, Stradivarius, Garbo, Debenhams, New Look, Bershka, Esprit and River Island. Aldo Shoes & Accessories provided all the footwear for the show as it is one of the main sponsors of the MFWA. My favourite looks were from Armani, Liu Jo and River Island.

MFWA2015 | The Point Shopping Mall Fashion Show

Date: Saturday 9th May 2015
Time: 20:30hrs
Location: Pjazza Tigne', The Point, Sliema

The Mercedez-Benz Malta Fashion Week kicked off yesterday night with the first fashion show, a satellite event hosted outside of Valletta which showcased collections from some 40 brands, starting off with Aldo Shoes & Accessories, one of the main sponsors of MFWA. The other brands were Armani Jeans, Guess, Sunlab, Debenhams, Hilfiger Denim, Sophia, Massimo Dutti, Gant, Lacoste, Liu Jo, Garbo, Luisa Spagnoli, Esprit, Nine West, Springfield, Piccinino, Mango, Nike, Pull & Bear, Oysho, Scholl, M Vintage, Lacoste, Stradivarius, Piazza Italia, New Look, River Island, Terranova, Bata, Calliope, Punt Roma, Skechers, Adidas, Bershka and Urban Jungle.

Some of the biggest trends were seventies' vibes with fringe detailing and flowy garments, floral prints in clashing colours and a good mix of colourful brights and earthy tones in different textures and materials.

Hair was trusted in the capable hands of Dean Gera stylists where the female models wore their tresses in sleek ponytails that complemented even the more formal looks. The makeup was applied by the very talented Biocare Academy makeup artists using Eva Garden Makeup. Bright lips were predominant all throughout with either complementing neutral eye makeup or even a pop of colour be it eyeshadow or coloured eyeliners - a major trend for the coming summer.
