Review: Nivea Visage Young be beautiful! Tinted Moisturizer

Here's the last review for my face care products series, in which I target Nivea Visage Young be beautiful! Tinted Moisturizer. I kept this product for last because it is the least one I use and here I will tell you why.

As usual, the packaging goes first. This is the only product in my face care range which I can't see through the packaging no matter against which light I put it as the tube is completely opaque. Then it's the usual motifs as the other Nivea Visage Young Products. The ingredients are only found on the box in which this tinted moisturizer comes along with a product description (the latter is also found on the back of the actual tube).

This tinted moisturizer comes in a 75ml format and is supposed to 'adapt to your natural skin tone for an even and radiant complexion'. It is only available in one shade, Natural.

I bought this tinted moisturizer due to the above claim as I thought 'hmm this would be perfect for when I don't feel like wearing foundation'. Well, I was wrong... very, very wrong.

To start off with, the shade is very dark for my skin and even though Nivea claim that this adapts to your natural skin tone, I am afraid that I noticed not even a hint of colour change. I gave it a go another time with a little less product but the same dark tone was what I was left with. Here are a couple of swatches:

In the second photo, you can still see where I blended the tinted moisturizer, and this picture was taken a couple of minutes after I blended it to make sure it is dry.

I even tried mixing the tinted moisturizer with my regular one, but sadly, no success there as well. So, I keep this for the summer months only.

Some good points about this tinted moisturizer would be the fact that it is non-comedogenic and it is clinically approved to be compatible with all skin types.

I think having a bigger array of shades would be great for this product as I as quite disappointed but I still believe Nivea can do better... just take a look at my previous posts!!

Review: Nivea Visage Young control shine! Mattifying Gel Cream

I am nearing the end of my facial care products reviews and for today, I am going to review Nivea Visage Young control shine! Mattifying Gel Cream. This is my go-to moisturizer and it is the second bottle. The first one lasted for a long time and I am content with that, so let me start the review, as usual with what the packaging of the product looks like.

Basically, this moisturizer comes in a 75ml format in the same 'frosty-glass effect' tube as the facial scrub with abstract flowers motifs in blue and white. It also comes supplied in a carton box with the same print as that on the tube. A product explanation are found at the back of the tube, whilst the ingredients are only printed on the box together with the same product explanation.

Now, for the product itself. The texture is quite creamy, but it gets absorbed really rapidly by the skin so just a little will go a long way. The cream has a light blue colour without any particular smell. It is oil free and contains Ocean Minerals.

For me, this moisturizer works wonders! Firstly, since it is rapidly absorbed, it hydrates my skin quickly. Secondly, it does mattify my skin and keeps it looking like that for long; and thirdly, since this moisturizer contains a UVA/UVB filter, it saves me from having to apply sunscreen as well.

I use this twice daily after cleansing to refresh and hydrate my skin for long periods of time. I find it is an excellent make up base due to its rapid absorption and my make up stays put all day.

Like all my other Nivea products, this moisturizer is non-comedogenic and its skin compatibility is dermatologically approved.

Review: Nivea Visage Young stay clear! Purifying Toner

Today, I will review another product I use for my facial cleansing routine, my Nivea Visage Young stay clear! Purifying Toner.

As usual, the packaging :)

The bottle is a transparent blue colour with some white and blue abstract flower motifs (similar to those on the facial scrub tube). It has a twist-off cap and a small hole though which the toner comes out. The benefits of having such a bottle are 1) you can see how much is left and
2) you have total control over how much product comes out

The toner is a clear colour and has the usual smell you would expect of a facial toner. You get 200ml or product which for me is a fair amount. The toner is alcohol free so it won't dry out the skin whilst still removing excess sebum and dirt. For me, this is a bonus for two reasons:
First, here in Malta we have what is known as hard water (our water is rich in calcium and magnesium carbonates) and that makes it very drying to the skin; therefore, having a toner that doesn't dry me out prevents my skin from producing excess serum and hence reduce breakouts.
Secondly, I like to use this toner more than once a day to refresh my skin so I wouldn't like it to dry me out.

The refreshing effect of this toner lasts well on my skin and it purifies it without leaving me with that taut-skin feeling. This is mainly why I like this toner so much. It is non-comedogenic, so I don't have to worry about blackheads or blocked pores.

I usually use the toner before and after a scrub and also before and after applying a facial mask to help open and close the pores accordingly.

Like all the other facial products I reviewed in these past days, I have been using this toner for a long time and I am quite happy with it so I intend to change it only when my skin changes :)
