Top-Ten Tuesdays ~ Eye Products

Good morning cupcakes ^.^ Today, I'm going to be sharing with you my Top-Ten Eye Products. So, in no particular order, here goes!

10. e.l.f. Liquid Eyeliner in Stardust ~ the perfect sparkling eyeliner to jazz up your night-time make up or party look!

9. Estee Lauder Eye Defining Pencil in Deep Brown ~ I like using this during the day and sometimes during the night for a more natural approach to make-up and I like how it matches the colour of my eyes.

8. e.l.f. Shimmer Eyeliner Pencils ~  although these do not provide you with the longest lasting of formulas, they are a great alternative to the usual boring black eyeliner as they add a pop of colour to your look :)

7. e.l.f. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black ~ my favourite eyeliner pen! It glides on smoothly and effortlessly and doesn't budge!

6. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk ~ the perfect creamy base to make eyeshadows pop!

5. essence stay natural concealer in 01 Soft Beige ~ I know this is technically not an eye product but since I mostly use this under my eyes, I figured it fits in this category as well. I really like the texture of this concealer and how well it covers my dark circles.

4. Max Factor Kohl Eyeliner in 020 Black ~ if there is a black pencil liner that I absolutely adore, it is this one! Stays on forever and has the deepest black ever!

3. e.l.f. Lengthening and Defining Mascara ~ whenever I wear this mascara, I always get told that it looks as if I am wearing falsies... I think that says it all!

2. e.l.f. Eyelid Primer ~ ever since I bought this primer, I can't seem to stop using it! It makes my eyeshadows pop and last longer without fading or creasing.

1. e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner in Metallic Olive ~ my favourite out of the cream eyeliners mainly because of the colour but also because I find it is creamier than the other one I have :)

Top-Ten Tuesdays ~ Hair Care Tips

This week, I share with you my Top-Ten hair care tips! Feel free to add your own in the comments box below! I love to learn something new :)

10. Wet hair is very fragile so avoid tying it or brushing it. Instead use a plastic wide-toothed comb to prevent breaking it.

9. Also, after rinsing off your conditioner splash your hair (and body) with cold water to close the hair cuticles and it will then appear more shiny and less frizzy (as for your body, cold water will boost circulation and help zap cellulite and tone the skin).

8. Use coordinating shampoo, conditioner and styling products i.e. if you use a shampoo for frizzy hair, make sure the rest of your products are suitable for frizzy hair.

7. Coconut oil works wonders for dry/frizzy hair!

6. Always use a heat protector before any kind of heat styling and avoid such styling methods on dry hair.

5. Get your hair trimmed as often as necessary to prevent it from looking and feeling like a haystack!

4. If possible use a UV filtering spray everyday to protect hair from the damaging effects of the sun, especially in summer.

3. Treat your hair to a rich hair mask every once in a while and you will soon reap the benefits.

2. If your hair tends to get oily easily avoid fiddling with it with your hands as this stimulates oil production.  However, if you have to really fiddle with it, use a comb instead!

1. If you have curly hair, use a satin pillow case to avoid them getting tangled!

Top-Ten Tuesdays ~ Tips for Clear Facial Skin

Each and everyone of us has been bombarded with tips and suggestions to take care of our facial skin... some work, some don't and some seem to aggravate the situation even more. Here are the ten that actually work for me:

10. Clean your make-up brushes thoroughly at least once a week. I do this on Sundays usually. Cleaning your brushes will get rid of bacteria that accumulate in them, therefore resulting in clearer skin. In between uses, I clean mine with the elf Studio Daily Brush Cleaner and then use the Brush Shampoo for a thorough clean once a week (you can get both of these products from the elf cosmetics UK website or eyeslipsface.com for USA and Canada).

9. Disinfect your mobile phone at the end of the day with some sanitizer.  Oils, make-up and bacteria from your skin will accumulate as you use your phone and these may cause breakouts at the sides of your face.  This also applies for the nose-pieces of sunglasses and spectacles. Sanitize them whenever you ca to avoid breakouts in the nose area.  Speaking of build-up, long hair can wreak havoc with your skin as well. Make sure you keep yours in check by washing it every other day.

8. We all know spots aren't supposed to be popped but if you can't resist, make sure your hands are squeaky-clean to avoid spreading the infection to other areas of your face and try to wrap a piece of tissue paper around your fingers.  However, a spot treatment cream is always the best bet. I use Effaclar AI by La Roche Posay (review coming up soon).

7. Moisturize! Even if your skin is oily, a good moisturizer is essential. Just remember to choose one that is adapted to your skin type and you're set. Going to back to oily skin, if you don't moisturize, your skin will think that there is a lack of oil and therefore, to compensate, it produces more, which means more breakouts. 

6. Knowing your skin type is essential to make sure you have clear skin all around.  Skin types vary greatly from one person to another and they tend to change seasonally and most of the time are under hormonal influence.  Ageing also changes our skin, therefore a skin assessment needs to be done occasionally. To get an idea on how to know what is your skin type, click here.

5. Once you know your skin type, you will know which products to use to care for your skin.  It is of utmost importance to have a skin care regimen (click here for an idea) and follow it religiously and also treat your skin to a scrub and a thorough clean with a face mask twice a week or less according to your skin's needs.  Scrubbing will remove cellular debris and will reveal clearer skin whilst a face mask will deep-clean your face for an even brighter complexion.  Alternate mask types so as to prevent them from not working on your skin because it would have gotten used to them, say for example if this week you used a deep cleansing mask, next week use a hydrating one.  Oily skin will benefit more if this is repeated twice every week whilst drier skin will be well-off with just one application a week.

4. Skip foundation for a couple of days if possible. Do so and you will notice that your skin looks better and you will be more confident not wearing foundation.

3. Wear sun-block everyday! Even when the sun is not out, harmful UVA (ageing) and UVB (burning) rays manage to pass through the clouds, therefore it is important to protect your skin. I use a moisturizer that has a UVA/UVB filter in it which saves me time in the morning.

2. A balanced diet also helps maintain a clear and healthy-looking complexion. I cut down my chocolate intake and have noticed a difference in the frequency of breakouts etc. However, there are no published medical studies that link chocolate consumption to breakout occurrence. This tip brings me to the no.1 Clear Skin tip...

1. which is... Hydration from within! Water is the best beauty product around and it is recommended to drink at least 2 litres of it a day (careful not to over-do it as it may lead to water intoxication).  Not only does water help maintain a clear skin, it also helps fights urinary-tract infections and other common skin conditions.  My best tip to reach the goal is to drink a glass of water every hour :)

This was one heck of a head-ache inducing post! I just couldn't get myself to decide which polishes I like most from my collection (which is ever growing hehe)!  Anyways, here are my picks!

9. Purple glitter polish from a no-name brand that lasts for days on end without chipping bonus points for cute design on cap.

8. Florelle Laque Plus black nail polish no.36 ~ perfect for nail art. 

7. elf Cranberry ~ the most sophisticated shade of red everyone should own.

6. elf Blush ~ a nice golden bronze colour that's perfect for fall.

5. Florelle Laque Plus sparkly silver polish no.51 ~ a sparkly number that will feature a lot in my holiday manicures.

4. elf Rosy Raisin ~ another fall favourite of mine.

3. elf Lilac ~ a creme lilac shade that takes you from day to night effortlessly.

2. Rimmel 60 Seconds 610 Pompous ~ a deep purple shade with some silver shimmer.

1. BYS Cosmetics Pink Passion ~ a gorgeous multi-tonal pink that's great all year round!

10. Rimmel Extra Super Lash in Black Black ~ an intense black mascara that gives the lashes a full appearance, both for dramatic and natural looks. Eliminates the use of a lash comb as it doesn't clump lashes and separates them beautifully.

9. e.l.f. Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Mascara in Clear ~ perfect for days on the beach, for natural looking lashes and keeping brows in check for a more polished, pulled-together look.

8. Max Factor Masterpiece in Black ~ another favourite of mine for full-lashes. I prefer to use this for dramatic night looks.

7. Maybelline The Colossal Volum Express in Black ~ the name of this mascara says it all! Volumised lashes all the way!

6. Rimmel Sexy Curves in Brown Black ~ this is my top mascara for lashes to complement a neutral day look. It gives lashes a full appearance without looking too dramatic.

5. Max Factor False Lash Effect in Black ~ again, the name says it all! careful when using this for day; 1 coat is enough or it may look too dramatic.

4. Rimmel 100% Waterproof in Black Black ~ the best waterproof mascara I have ever tried! Lasts me a whole day in summer while swimming + it doesn't smudge or bugde!

3. Max Factor Lash Lift in Black Brown ~ a brown mascara that I like to use for natural yet rather unconventional looks.

2. e.l.f Earth & Water Mascara Duo in Noire ~ the perfect day mascara for me! I use it all year round since one side is a regular mascara and the other is a waterproof version. Defined lashes all day long as this mascara doesn't smudge.










1. L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion ~ my absolute favourite mascara! It gives lashes a beautiful fan effect thanks to the revolutionary brush.

Top-Ten Tuesdays ~ The Body Shop

Another Tuesday... another Top-Ten post! This time, I will share my favourites from The Body Shop. All the images are taken from the Body Shop website except for the bath lilies and lip stuff. *WARNING* Coconut Products overload ahead!

10. Hi-Shine Lip Treatment ~ I like the shimmery effect this lipgloss gives to the lips and apart from wearing it alone, I like layering it on lipstick as well. However, when worn alone I really appreciate the moisturizing effect, not so much the stickiness though, so I apply some clear lip balm underneath and the problem is sorted!



9. Born Lippy Lip Balms ~ Another favourite lip product are these lip balms. Currently, I have the Passionberry one and I love the smell (and taste) as well as the just seen sheen this gives to my lips. What I don't like about this is the fact that you have to scoop out the product with a lip brush so it's not really practical to carry around.

8. Bath Lilies ~ The reason I love bath lilies so much is because I like my shower gels to lather heavily lol and the ones from the Body Shop not only smell nice, they are also nicely sized and coloured for that matter! Check out the swirly one... it came with a Coconut gift set and smelt of coconut as well before I started using it.

7. Guarana Berry Volumising Shampoo ~ I like how this shampoo volumised my hair and left it smelling gorgeous for a long time. I did not like the conditioner though as it seemed to weigh my hair down :S

6. Peppermint Foot Scrub ~ This is my favourite foot scrub of all time. It awakens my tired feet and leaves a fresh, peppermint scent behind which in my opinion is really invigorating.

5. Divide and Multiply Mascara ~ I am a big fan of vintage pin-up looks and this mascara is perfect to achieve that separated lash effect.

4. Shea and Coconut Body Scrubs ~ OK, so I am cheating a bit here :P but since these two babies belong to the same category, I decided to count them as one :P. I love both of these body scrubs as they leave my skin really smooth for a long time not to mention scrumptiously smelling!

3. Coconut Body Butter ~ The perfect pick-me-up after a dull day for truly smooth and summery smelling skin! I like the thick texture which is absorbed really fast by the skin. Definitely a re-buy!

2. Coconut Shower Cream ~ The reason I like coconut products so much is not only because of their smell, but also because of their highly moisturizing and caring properties for the skin and hair. My shower gel is no exception!

1. Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream ~ The name says it all! This is my favourite moisturizer come rain or shine because it never makes my skin greasy and smells lovely.




Finally, here's how I use the fancy packaging that I get with gift sets from The Body Shop...

That's right, I store some of my make-up and jewellery in them! P.S. I got my brother to spray paint the silver and black ones.
