Review | Plumper Lips with Teoxane RHA Lip'sculpt

Hello everyone :) I've got another review post for you today and it's all about a revolutionary new product from Teoxane, the RHA Lip'sculpt.

The brand Teoxane is not new on this blog for I had the pleasure and opportunity to try other products from them before. Apart from dermo-cosmetic products, the brand also has a successful line of dermal fillers and I am not going to lie, I thought Lip'sculpt was actually a lip filler. I was relieved to know it wasn't (yes I am scared of needles!) and so I agreed to give it a test run.

As far as signs of aging on our faces go, the lip contour is the first to give in. Most notably, the area is prone to a significant loss of fat mass which in turn causes superficial dehydration and a decrease in barrier function as we age. The lips will consequently appear finer and vertical wrinkles start to appear.

I am still young for wrinkles to appear on my skin but my lips have always been on the thinner side. On the other hand, like I said before, I am scared of needles so lip fillers will be the very last thing I consider to do. Thankfully, Teoxane has come up with RHA Lip'sculpt that claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as augmenting lip size after 28 days of use.

Teoxane RHA Lip'sculpt comes in a box complete with an information booklet while it comes in the sleekest of tubes with a metal applicator to up the application experience. Basically, Lip'sculpt is a serum that contains a concentrate of Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid, Resilient Hyaluronic Acid (RHA) and Glycerine to achieve volume, lifting and hydration respectively. It also contains Ivy and ginseng extracts and Konjac to further help achieve the afore mentioned effects.

There is a recommended, simple mode of application as explained in the booklet that comes with the product and I have been applying the product morning and evening for the past two months or so.

While fortunately, I don't have any wrinkles at the moment, I can definitely comment on the size of my lips. First things first, this is just a serum meant to give you a temporary plumped lips appearance so don't expect the results to last as long as with fillers; however, I still like to apply this serum before my lip products to have plumper looking lips. When the effect wears off though, my lips return to their usual size (they don't go from XS to XXL but there is slightly more volume). Also, there is no tingling involved so yay! However, my lips do feel a little numb (not completely, just a wee bit) for a couple of minutes immediately after application but they go back to normal in no time. I haven't really seen a drastic change in my lips' volume but I would recommend the product for anyone wanting a temporary solution. The product can also be used to complement a lip filler treatment.

What do you think? Would you consider using such a product over fillers? Leave a comment below!

Event | Teoxane Cosmeceuticals New Product Launches

Swiss cosmeceutical brand Teoxane has fast become one of my go-to skin care brands after I was introduced to it earlier this year. Thus, I of course accepted an invitation to a seminar which included the launch of new products - all of which happened at the Executive Suite within The Palace Hotel in Sliema last Monday afternoon over Prosecco and a delicious lunch.

Export manager Nicolas and marketing manager Melanie, flew in specifically for the occasion and they delivered an excellent presentation about the brand Teoxane and we even got to know their products better as well as witness the launch of an exciting new product.

Teoxane's range of products including the new RHA Hydrogel Mask

Basically, the brand Teoxane specialises in anti-aging skin care on the level of injections (dermal fillers) and complimenting skin care products, both of which are available at certain aesthetic clinics. All Teoxane product formulations revolve around the principle of hydration is better than moisturization and Teoxane's patented RHA resilient hylauronic acid technology. For more in-depth information about Teoxane, you can check out my introductory post here.

Teoxane's products are mainly aimed at those individuals who are not yet ready to commit to injections and aesthetic procedures but are willing to do something about their skin's situation. In fact, their products can be used either alone or in conjunction with aesthetic treatments both in terms of preparation of the skin prior to treatment and even as after care to prolong the results. An interesting fact is that in Malta, the most commonly used Teoxane product is R[II] Eyes and after using it myself, I can vouch for it! Read my full review here.

During the presentation, we were given the opportunity to try the products ourselves and were also given a live demonstration of the newly launched RHA Hydrogel Mask which promises and actually delivers results in 15 minutes. The mask instantly gives a 50% more plump appearance and the skin is actually hydrated immediately following application. Teoxane RHA Hydrogel Mask can be described as a sheet mask with a gel texture and it covers both your face and neck for a complete treatment. It smells very fresh but the scent is not too overwhelming, since it is a more medically indicated product.

Another product which intrigued me is the RE[Cover] Complexion SPF50 which is neither a makeup product and neither a skin care product but a hybrid of both which is ideal to use after an aesthetic treatment. It aims to soothe, cover redness and bruises and protect the skin from UV rays.

Following my previous experience with Teoxane, I am really curious to try out the RHA Hydrogel Mask and the samples given to us at the end of the event. Will keep you posted with the results!

Teoxane products can only be found at authorised clinics and beauty salons and are distributed by Metropolis Pharma.

Review | Teoxane R[II] Eyes RHA Advanced Eye Contour

Good morning loves :) If you follow me on social media, you would know that I recently got to know the skin care brand Teoxane up close and personal and for the past month or so, I have been religiously using their R[II] Eyes RHA Advanced Eye Contour.

First things first, if you are still new to Teoxane, you can read more information in the brand introduction post I had written following the event or you can also check out the website for more details.

With that out of the way, let us have a look at the packaging of Teoxane R[II] Eyes RHA Advanced Eye Contour. The product comes in a very clean-looking white box with touches of silver and teal, the same colour scheme being repeated with the actual product. The eye contour cream itself is presented in a sleek tube that is the same colours as the box and it comes with a metal applicator that resembles a flattened out doe foot through which the product comes out. Sadly, mine broke off when I accidentally dropped the product but I am still able to use the product, just not the metal applicator.

Teoxane R[II] Eyes has a beige tint to it that gives the eyes a brighter appearance and combats dark under eye circles. It does not provide any coverage whatsoever though as it is intended as a skin care product. Apart from dark circles, Teoxane R[II] Eyes also targets puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles.

I like to apply the product morning and evening after I clean my face and after a month or so of religiously following this regimen, I am happy to report that I have finally found a solution for my dark circles! In my opinion, the best way to apply the product is in a circular motion starting at the inner corner on the upper part of the eyes just above the eyelid, and working your way out and around the bottom lash line into the inner corner. It is best if you use the ring fingers to apply the product as it exerts the least pressure on the sensitive area around the eyes.

R[II]Eyes combines Teoxane's anti-aging complex RHA (Resilient Hyaluronic Acid) technology together with Dermo-Restructuring Complex and NovHyal (an active ingredient, the product of biotechology) to yield optimal results. Furthermore, the formula is enriched with active ingredients such as Escine and Hamamelis extract to provide an anti-fatigue action for the eye area.

I have tried many products that claim to reduce dark circles and they only worked for some time and my problem reverts back to normal after a while. With Teoxane R[II] Eyes, it is a different story. I have seen an improvement with respect to how dark my under eye circles were and while I cannot yet vouch for it's anti-wrinkle properties, I will surely reap the benefits of using such a product in due time. Moreover, the product is perfectly fit for use on sensitive skin.

Teoxane R[II] Eyes retails for €45 for 15ml of product and can be found at authorized stockists.
