MFWA 2015 | Bridal Fashion Show

Date: Sunday 10th May 2015
Time: 17:00hrs
Location: Sacra Infermeria Hall at Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta

The first fashion show to take place in our capital for this years edition of MFWA, is the Bridal Fashion Show which just like last year, took place at the MCC. In my opinion, the lush settings of this historical building are a really fit backdrop for all the beautiful gowns modeled by equally beautiful models. I personally look forward to the Bridal Show every year and even when I didn't attend to the Fashion Week events, I always made sure to check out the photos...I guess that's the romantic in me :)

This year, the four bridal houses who took part in the show were Anna Romysh at Wedding Bells, Impression Bridal by Bridal Creations, Rosa Clara' by Ivory & Co. and local designers Creative Factory 7 (CF7) tailored by Gaetano Deguara.

The first three houses presented traditional wedding gowns in crisp white or ivory fabrics such as regal lace, smooth silk and intricate guipur with touches of sparkly details; everything a girl's dream wedding gown is made of, really. This year, there was also a surge of minimalist cuts and more opulent and daring designs, thus all brides-to-be are sure to find the wedding dress of their dreams. The models wore natural makeup looks, what one would say are traditionally bridal and all the products used were from Eva Garden. Elegant upstyles and sideways fishtail braids complemented the dresses perfectly thanks to Tres Emme styling products.

On the other hand, CF7 presented a more colourful collection entitled 'Paper Fans' that was really out of the ordinary. In short, they live up to the name 'Creative Factory'! The Asian influences, in particular Japanese culture, were really palpable in all creations the local duo presented, even down to the makeup - pale skin, red cheeks & lips and strong, black, defined brows. Again, all products used were Eva Garden. The models' hair was swept up and each of them wore a 'paper fan' fascinator to complement the dresses and jumpsuits which are mostly made from printed fabric and lace.

Mercedes-Benz MFWA 2014 | Bridal Fashion Show

Lavish surroundings, fairy tale wedding gowns, beautiful models, a reception and of course stylish guests! This is what went down at yesterday night's Bridal Fashion Show at the La Vallette Hall within the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, marking the fifth night of the Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week for 2014.

An array of mesmerising wedding dresses were presented from three very different bridal houses, namely, Wedding Bells, Pronovias and Loredana Roccasalva Couture. All three houses have a distinctive character which is effortlessly embodied in their collections varying from the traditional laces and chiffon fabrics of Wedding Bells and Pronovias to the more daring options with feather details and a rich Sicilian feel of the house of Loredana Roccasalva Couture - a tribute to the designer's roots.

My favourite collection was the one from the Spanish house of Pronovias and I was overly delighted to learn that the collection showcased yesterday was actually by Elie Saab, my favourite wedding and evening gown designer!
