Nail Polish Collection | China Glaze

Continuing from my nail polish storage post, today I will start showing you my nail polish collection. I have categorized the polishes by brand and first up is China Glaze. I've been hooked on China Glaze nail polishes ever since I bought the first one, Awakening over two years ago. Most of the formulas are very easy to work with and I think China Glaze is always on the forefront of new trends as far as nails are concerned. These are all my China Glaze polishes: (polish descriptions and swatches all from left to right)

Nail Polish Collection | Storage

At long last, I will show you my nail polish collection, starting of course with how I store them along with a few tips you might want to pick up yourselves to organize your own collection.

I keep all my nail polishes in this 4 drawer cabinet from Lidl which I bought for €40. You have to assemble it yourself though but it comes with easy to follow instructions and it really doesn't take more than 30 minutes to complete.

The drawers are very deep, perfect to hold even the taller nail polishes such as China Glaze and the likes. I still have to fit the drawers with liners though to stop the nail polishes from moving whenever I open and close a drawer.

My entire collection is divided between the two top drawers. In the first one, I keep all my more expensive polishes such as O.P.I., China Glaze, Essie and Zoya as well as a few drugstore ones that do not fit in the other drawer (you'll soon see why). I also keep all my nail treatments, base coats, top coats and cuticle care stuff in this drawer as well as all my swatch wheels.

I swatch every new polish I get according to the colour onto the respective nail wheels and then I insert it into my nail polish collection database that I keep on my laptop. I categorise the polishes by brand and also take note of the collection and year they came out wherever possible.

In the second drawer, I keep the less expensive and drugstore polishes such as Essence, Catrice, Rimmel, Maybelline, etc... as you can see, this drawer is completely full up and that's why I couldn't fit any more drugstore polishes in it.

How do I know which colour I want without going through them all one by one? Easy! I swatched a dot of the polish on the cap! Here is a little pictorial:

I prefer the Essence bottles though, firstly because they look so nice and colourful and secondly because the colour of the cap reflects the colour of the polish.

The bottom drawers house backups of nail cleaners, sanitizers and other equipment that I use for gel nails so nothing overly exciting. However, if anyone of you would like a post on my home 'nail salon', I would be more than glad to do one after we renovate it completely.

How do you store your polishes? Would you like me to show the polishes by brand or by colour?

Make-Up Collection {Part 1 ~ Storage Cabinet & Face Products}

Hello loves :) I thought of sharing my make-up collection with you in a series of posts where I will divide the products in different categories.  I will also link the reviews to the different products so you would know which I have already reviewed and if you would like me to review any of the non-reviewed ones (if any) or  you simply want to know if I still like the product as much as when I initially bought it or if I have changed my mind about it or anything, just leave a comment down below :)

I will start with face products today.  You will see that I as much as I love to collect make-up, I am not much of a hoarder in this regard as I just don't get the point of having say 10 peach blushes when you only have one face lol but that's just me! So don't expect a huge collection.  Also, my make-up is mostly drugstore with the occasional high-end product or two.

Anyway, first up are some pictures of the cabinet where I store all my make-up.  The cabinet is located in my room just under a half-length mirror and I apply my make-up standing up.  Mum & Dad had bought it for me after I had been complaining that I didn't have any more space to store all my make-up.  I quite like it being white and the drawers are all very spacious especially the wicker baskets.  Mum will however take off the flowery cloths and sew some out of left-over fabric from my curtains and bed-spread so that the cabinet matches my room more.

Here's a quick rundown of how I store all my make-up in the cabinet, starting with the smaller drawers first...
In the first one, I mainly keep face products as well as some lip products while in the one beneath it, I keep my false eyelashes and other eye products.  In the third drawer, I keep all bits and bobs I use to tie my hair as well as fancy bobby pins etc and in the last one, I keep all my taller nail polishes such as China Glaze and Orly.

In the first wicker basket, I keep my brush-roll and other loose brushes in their covers as well as the brush shampoo and daily cleaner.  The second basket, houses all my eyeshadows while the third one, holds all my perfumes and some body lotions.  In the bottom-most one, I keep my Philips hair-dryer and New Look straighteners.

On the top of the cabinet, I keep the brushes I use on a daily basis, basic make-up products I reach for most often and my hair brushes and deodorant.

That out of the way, I will let you have a nosey into my face products collection :P

So that's all of my face products collection ladies! Do we have any common products? Do you like these kind of posts?

Review: Born Pretty Store 12 pot empty container set

Hello loves :) I hope each and everyone of you is doing fine :) Here's a quick review about this empty container set that I purchased from BornPrettyStore.com.

I was looking for some empty containers to store my bouillon steel beads because as you will see in the photos that follow, the containers they came into were simply impractical.  So I logged onto their website and decided to get these which also came with a clear plastic box to keep the pots all together.  I placed my order for which I used my Born Pretty Points and practically, I got the containers for free! (you can accumulate points by creating an account and submitting pictures and reviews of products you have bought from the site). The retail price is also quite affordable and it decreases per item if you purchase more than one in a single transaction.  Born Pretty Store also offer free shipping worldwide.  Since they are based in China, orders may take long to arrive but with this order, it arrived within less than 15 days so I was quite impressed.  The containers came in a plastic sleeve, all wrapped in a padded envelope to protect them against rough handling.

Here are a couple of pictures to show you in detail how the pots present themselves:

As you can see, they are made of a clear, sturdy plastic material which makes up for easy viewing of what's inside each pot.  They are suitable for a vast range of nail art supplies and decorations such as rhinestones, beads and dried flowers amongst others.  They are also suitable to store craft materials as well.

The lids close tightly so there is no risk of losing rhinestones and the clear box in which they come helps keep everything organized in one place and it also serves as a space-saver!

Here's how I transformed the way my steel beads were originally stored:

Much more organized huh?  The only thing is that if these sets came in sets of 16 instead of 12, I think it would have been better for me.  I could always have gotten another set but since I only needed like 2 or 3 pots more (that's why there are some mixed colours in the photo above), it wasn't really feasible.

However, I am really happy that none of the pots nor the box itself were broken and now my beads are nicely stored away in pots which are more practical for me to pick out the beads from!  Should you wish to get a set yourself, make sure you use the code below for a 10% off your order ;)
