Brighter skin and fine lines reduction? Come this way, please!

Wow, it's been quite a while since I last sat down to write something here in my little corner of the internet! The social media sphere has changed since I started writing this blog over 11 years ago, and with the fast-paced life we're living, people are more into viewing stories and short reels on the different social media platforms available. Technology changes quite rapidly, and we should use that to our advantage. Here, I'm not only implying keeping up to date with the latest tech gadgets but also using technology to enhance our appearance, specifically our skin.

I want to share a very beneficial (and technological!) facial I did this morning at Claire's Beauty Basics: the Dermacte Cupping Pro Facial. This facial promises to make your skin glow, lift, sculpt, and detoxify by boosting circulation, reducing puffiness, and enhancing natural collagen production. It will leave you with firmer, smoother, and visibly more radiant skin, even after just one session.

I don't know about you, but I never miss a chance to enhance my skin's radiance and get an hour to myself, so I was eager to get to Claire's and start the treatment right away! Getting there is stress-free, and parking is easy, too. This already makes for a better experience, and I know that a cosy room and blankets will be waiting for me to be comfortable throughout the treatment session.

The facial starts with a double cleanse to ensure the skin is completely clean and ready to absorb all the good stuff from the subsequent product applications. Next is one of my favourite parts of facial treatment at Claire's Beauty Basics - a Welcome Ritual Massage for the scalp, face, neck and decollete. This gets the circulation going and relaxes you to maximise the hour-long experience. A gentle scrub then prepares your skin by removing any dead skin cells and further boosting circulation through gentle massage motions.

Then we come to the crux of this facial - the cupping itself. A modelling gel is applied to the face, neck and decollete areas to ease the flow of the cups and prevent damage to the skin. The gel contains beneficial ingredients such as soothing Aloe barbadensis leaf extract and hydrating glycerin, which protects the skin barrier.

The cupping is performed in sections, starting with the decollete and neck, moving on to the chin and lower area of the face. The movements followed are designed to aid lymphatic drainage (to reduce puffiness and eliminate toxins), boost collagen production and skin elasticity, reduce fine lines and brighten dull and tired skin. Smaller cups are used around the eyes and the forehead since the skin is thinner. The suction intensity of the cups is adjusted according to how your skin responds - if you get red quickly, like me, the intensity can be lowered.

Once the cupping is done, a hydrating mask is applied and left on for 15 minutes before applying the finishing products - an antioxidant multi-vitamin mask, serum, eye cream and sunblock, irrespective of whether it's summer or winter.

My experience with this facial was positive. I felt no pain from the cupping, and my skin was not red after the treatment. This meant I could go on with my day, confident that my skin looked good without any makeup on. I even noticed that the fine lines near my eyes I have been getting thanks to my lack of sleep for the past two years have slightly diminished even after this first session.

Investing in our skin is the greatest beauty investment, including regular facials tailored to your specific needs and products that work. I am adding the Dermacte Cupping Pro Facial to my list of pick-me-ups whenever my skin needs a glow boost!
