Supporting local talent should always come first especially in a tiny island like Malta, and for me, it is even more so when the brand concerned has to do with fashion and beauty. I'm sure you have read about the brand Nilara, visited the shop (if you live in Malta) or better yet, own a bespoke creation from the very capable hands of Nilay Topal Camilleri.
I had already written another post with a lot of background information about the whole concept behind Nilara which you can check out here and you have probably also read about her latest collection, 'Paint It Black' which was first showcased during this year's edition of the Mercedes Benz Malta Fashion Week (hands down my favourite show from the whole week).
The 'Paint It Black' collection is what this post will be about as the opulent and elegant collection graced the runway for a second time; in Moscow for the prestigious Mrs Russia event. The event took place on the 8th of August 2015 at the Estet Jewellery House, renowned as the venue hall of the biggest diamond production facility in Europe.
Mrs Russia pageant is organized under the patronage of Women's Planet, which also has a branch here in Malta and the pageant aims at celebrating women and motherhood. The contest is now it's 15th year and continues to attract local and international attention alike. The Women's Planet foundation is a very popular organization in Russia and it stands for motherhood, family and child support.
Mrs. Nilay Camilleri was part of the judging panel as the exclusive designer for the show together with the following internationally acclaimed artists: Mrs. Irina Dzhalialianc - Beverly Hills based sculpturist, Mr Yurin Rozum- a well known pianist all over the world, who in fact has a music school in Malta named after him. Mr. Alexander Piatkov – famous Russian Actor, Alexander Deriabin – international scientist and Mrs.Ekaterina Dibrova – the president of RHANA Japanese medical Corporation.
The show opened with the very same Paint It Black collection accompanied by live music from famous Peruvian violinist Mario Durand and the collection was given a standing ovation at the show, which was aired on local television stations. Mrs Nilay was also interviewed by local journalists following the show.
The contest was won by Ekaterina Kirmel from St.Petersburg and who is a mother of 6 children! All fnalists were awarded a Nilara evening dress as part of their winnings.
This event has put the Nilara brand on an international platform along with Malta, which is after all, the country of origin of the brand. I personally wish Nilay and her team great success on every level!

Our country has been widely celebrated at this event, thanks to Nilay herself, which as the owner of Nilara and Maltese designer at the show, has been awarded with an exclusive tiara for being a successful business woman all the while being a mother to two children. The tiara was presented to Mrs. Nilay Camilleri by the vice-president of the contest, Mrs. Ekaterina Camilleri.
