Review: Montagne Jeunesse Green Tea Peel-Off Masque

Working night shifts has had it's toll on my skin but thank God it is now getting used to them.  However, I always make it a point that whenever I can, I treat my skin once a week to a deep-cleansing facial and for these past weeks, I have been using a peel-off masque from my favourite face masque company, Montagne Jeunesse.  More specifically, I have been using the Green Tea Peel-Off Masque.

Besides Green Tea, this masque contains Ginger which helps reduce skin inflammation whilst maintaining the skin's elasticity and firmness as well as cleansing the skin of dirt and grime thanks to it's antibacterial properties; sqeezed Lemon is another constituent of this masque and it helps with revitalising and refreshing the skin (for ways on how you can incorporate lemon in your skin care and beauty regime, click here).

The smell of this masque somehow conjures up images of Thai spas in my mind with the faint ginger and green tea scent and the colour and texture remind me of lemon flavoured jelly.  I know, yummy!! And your skin will thank you for using such a masque to aid it detoxify from everyday pollution and give it a deeper cleanse!

What's more? This masque will leave your conscience clear as much as your skin as Montange Jeunesse do not test on animals or use bits of our furry friends in their products! Moreover, this masque is suitable for Vegans, Coeliacs (gluten-intolerant individuals), Lactose and Nut intolerant individuals and it is also paraben free so skin really is in for a treat!

From my personal experience, I noticed that my skin looks instantly brighter upon using this masque and it truly feels deeply cleansed.  There is something about having to peel such masks that leaves me more confident that my skin in really clean.  The only downside to peel-off masques is that they can be quite messy to apply but on the other hand, they are very easy to take off!  I totally recommend this masque to anyone with blemish prone skin and anyone else who wants to give their skin a brand new start the natural way!

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Very Berry Face Masque

Another post for today! I have decided to blog till my fingers bleed today because in the coming two - three weeks starting tomorrow, I will be quite busy with my graduation preparations and celebrations, the village festa and squeezing in nail appointments in my off days.

Today, I have another natural face mask from Montagne Jeunesse which is bursting with juicy cranberries and blueberries, both of which are well know for their antioxidants and detoxifying properties.  The Very Berry Face Mask is one of the newest additions to MJ's ever increasing range of natural, cruelty-free face masks which are also suitable for vegetarians!

The packaging is very true to the contents and as soon as you open the sachet, you are met with the juicy aroma of fresh cranberries.  I really like the pearly lilac colour of this mask too and it's quite thick in texture but easy to spread on your skin.  It is recommended that you leave the mask on cleansed, dry skin for 10 - 15 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.  To reap fruity beauty benefits, it is best if you use this mask once a week. I know I will as I have already got myself another backup!

Blueberries, being so rich in vitamins, will help clear troubled skin while cranberries boast Omega 3, 6 & 9 and other natural oils to further delay the ageing process of the skin.  Moreover, cranberries and blueberries are not the only constituents of this mask! It also contains Peach Kernel oil to nourish the skin and Aloe will rehydrate and moisturize.

This is definitely one of the best ever products from Montagne Jeunesse and you can find it at ASDA, Boots, Claire's, New Look, Savers and from the MJ website for UK residents.  Fellow Maltese beauties, you can find MJ masks at New Look, Peacocks and various other super markets.

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Hot Chocolate Sauna Masque

This week is National Chocolate Week (10th - 16th October) in the UK and while we all know that chocolate is the yummy comfort food a lot of people revert to when feeling down or simply when we need a boost in our moods, we also know that unfortunately, it can expand our waistlines :(

Today, thanks to Montagne Jeunesse, we can enjoy chocolate without the guilt with their Hot Chocolate Sauna Masque!  I was asked to review this chocolatey masque and being a chocoholic, I jumped at the occasion!  In fact, I have just taken the mask off my face my skin feels as smooth as ever and smells so yummy lol!  The fact that this mask, (like all other products in the MJ range) is not tested on animals and is made out of natural ingredients, makes it all more worthwhile to use! It is also suitable for vegetarians.

Let me get started on this rave review then!  First, off the packaging, which as usual, manages to convey the right image of the product.  You get 15g of product so you can use the mask more than once.  The smell instantly takes you to chocolate heaven and the citrussy, orange touch conveys a feeling of freshness... the perfect at-home spa feeling!

The texture of this mask is very smooth indeed and feels like spreading some luxurious Belgian chocolate-orange on your face!  It instantly heats up on contact with the skin to open up pores and deep clean your face.  In fact, my skin looks brighter and cleaner after rinsing off the mask and it feels very smooth!  The main ingredients in this mask contribute to one healthy treat! Have a look at this; dark melted chocolate banishes impurities with its powerful anti-oxidants, while Mediterranean Clay gets rid of dirt and oils from deep within the pores. Zesty Orange Oil bursting with Vitamin C will leave skin feeling revitalised and refreshed. And that’s not all! Cocoa butter soothes and nourishes while the Vanilla protects against free radicals.

Speaking of rinsing this mask off, since it is quite rich in texture and dark in colour, it takes some more time to take it all off.  However, the fact that it doesn't dry, makes it easier to take off.

All in all, this is one of the best chocolate based masks from Montagne Jeunesse and I already have another sachet of it in my skin care drawer to make sure I don't run out of it any time soon! I recommend this mask to anyone who wants a deep clean, chocoholics who want to enjoy chocolate without the guilt and everyone else who loves a good cruelty-free and natural face mask!

Residents in the UK can get MJ products from Asda, Morrisons and online at www.montagnejeunesse.com.  My Maltese readers can get these face masques from New Look and some supermarkets across the island.

How will you celebrate National Chocolate Week?

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Exfoliating Masque

Hello ladies! Sorry for the lack of posting these last few days but I'm quite busy studying for my finals... so busy that Mum went shopping today and I couldn't go with her ;(  Anyways, today I will review another face masque from Montagne Jeunesse, namely, their Exfoliating Scrub which contains peach kernel and walnut among other ingredients.

In what ways does this masque differ from the other MJ masques I have tried? Well, basically, it is two things: texture and hence the mode of application. The texture is very similar to your regular facial scrub, only thicker and this stuff smells of peach!! I just love it when this stuff is on my face and I can still smell it after I rinse it off.  On thing to point out here is that the granules are just the correct size... not too harsh and not too mini!

So basically, you have to massage this masque on your face to get the most out of its exfoliating action and then leave it for around 10 minutes (according to the instructions on the pack), massage one more time and rinse off with water.  When I followed these exact directions, I found the masque a bit too dry to massage it again prior to rinsing so the next time I used this masque, I left in on for a couple minutes less and it was easier to massage.  Another thing you could try is to dampen your fingertips with a little water and then massage the product one last time.

I managed to get 6 uses out of this sachet and like most other masques, one was a trial on my boyfriend hehe. It also happened to be the first use and since I have never tried this masque before, neither of us knew the surprise that was in store for us after I rinsed it off his face. So, to cut a long story short, we were both left with smoother-feeling skin and to my bf's horror and my amusement, we also had specks of tiny glitter/shimmer all over our faces!!!  So I recommend you use this masque before going to bed.

Texture of the masque ~ Apart from the exfoliating granules, up close you can also see its pearly white colour and a hint of shimmer

Apart from the glitter thingy, I really like this masque and it will be a definite repurchase... will come in handy for those days when I'm busy or too tired to do a full cleansing routine!

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Mud Pac

Hello my lovelies! Since I have just finished my last assignment *does a lilly happy dance* I have some free time on my hands before I get back to studying, so here's another Montagne Jeunesse review for you all!

As you can tell from the title, I will be reviewing their Mud Pac which was sent to me for review purposes.  I reached for this masque quite often and I'm going to tell you straight away that I managed to get 7(!) applications out of one, single sachet! How amazing is that??  As far as packaging goes, it is the usual, fun, bright and colourful Montagne Jeunesse way of presenting what the product will be like.

The reason I reached for this product a lot is written on the pack just under the name of the masque... anti-stress!  Dead Sea products are known to be used widely in spas for their exceptional de-stressing qualities and its mud is no exception!  In fact, as soon as you open up the sachet, you are greeted with a refreshing minty-like smell and a rather thick, light-blue coloured masque.  I really look forward to my pampering time on Sundays to use this masque as I have 10 minutes all by myself with the refreshing smell of the masque.  As usual, I have also tried this masque on my bf and he didn't complain about a single thing and that's always good isn't it?

The product is easy to apply and rinse off so you are not left with bluish skin.  I would recommend this masque to anyone who wants to unwind after a hectic week or is undergoing stressful times.

Tempted yet? You can get yours along with a selection of Natural Beauty Products from Montagne Jeunesse and other stockists.

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Cucumber Peel-Off Masque

Good morning beautiful people :) Today I will be reviewing another Montagne Jeunesse face masque.  By now, you may have noticed how much I love MJ face masques. I love all their range so I'm constantly looking for new ones to try and this masque right here was a case in point! I was sent this masque for free and I was delighted that it was one I have never used before.

As usual, here's what the sachet looks like... I'm a fan of the pink colour of this sachet as much as I am of the results delivered!  The only two things that bothered me are the smell of methol that burned my eyes a little as the masque was settling on my skin and a little itchy patch I woke up with the next morning on the side of one of my cheeks.

The masque has a gel-like consistency but is more on the watery side.  It has a light green tinge to it but it goes on clear.  I do like the refreshing smell of vapour-rub even though I expected it to smell like cucumbers.  I also like the results this masque delivers so I put up with the burning eyes hehe :)

Peeling off the masque is very easy... fun actually!! It is like peeling a layer of plastic to reveal the nice, smooth and radiant skin underneath!  And the best part is... I checked my nose immediately as that is where I get most black heads and.... there was not even one in sight! How's that for a deep cleaning masque?  The itchy patch did bother me though, but it was nothing a little cream didn't get rid of.

I find that peel-off masques do not have that much product as the thicker ones so I guess you will manage something around 3 applications out of this sachet.  I have only used this once as I didn't want to get another itchy patch on my face though.

Have you ever tried this masque ladies? What are your feelings about it?

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Sauna Masque Red Hot Earth

Ever feel like you need to really deep clean your face and be left with soft, smooth and lovely smelling skin? If so, keep reading as I may have the right product for you! Montagne Jeunesse's Sauna Masque Red Hot Earth is another fabulous product from this cruelty-free company and if you are a vegeterian, their products are suitable for you too!  Let's have a look at this one masque from their extensive range.

The packaging of all Montagne Jeunesse products is always colourful and fun and this masque is no exception!

As the name suggests, this masque is a sauna masque; meaning that it warms up on contact with the skin.  Due to this warming action, it opens up the pores and deep cleans them so you are left with beautiful-looking & clean skin.

One of the main ingredients in this masque is actually clay which when combined with the right ingredients, helps combat stress and therefore promotes relaxation.

With regards texture, this masque is not as thick as the other ones but it still delivers optimal results.  It looks a bit like it is sticky and gooey when you open the pack but in reality it is very easy to apply and subsequently remove it.  I managed to get 3 applications out of this pack, one of which was used on my bf and this masque got his approval!  The colour of the masque is actually fun as well... a kind of reddish-pink!

As for scent, I cannot really say there is a strong scent to this masque at least while it is on your face.  When I start rinsing it off though, I can detect a faint smell of clay with some essential oils maybe?  This masque was provided for review purposes but I have used it before and I have never developed any irritations; actually I have never developed any irritations to any Montagne Jeunesse products! That's why I have stayed faithful to them all this time!

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud

A few weeks ago, the lovely people from Montagne Jeunesse sent me a generous selection of their face masques to try out for review and the one that caught my eye first, was the Blemish Mud.  I had been lemming this masque for quite a long time now as we only get a small selection of the MJ masques here in Malta.  For those of you who do not know who and what Montagne Jeunesse is, it is basically a company who produce face masques, foot scrubs and even hair treatments out of all natural ingredients.  I have been a fan of theirs for quite some time now and I am always looking to try out more and more of their products as they never failed to impress me (hair masques next on the list hehe)!  Where was I? Ah yes, the Blemish Mud...

I really like the fun packaging this company presents their products in especially the ones where chocolate is involved! Lol it makes me want to gobble the whole thing up! Pity it's not edible lol.  Here's what the Blemish Mud looks like:

You already know that two ingredients are Aloe Vera and Willow.  They both possess blemish fighting properties so they really fit in this masque.  When you open the pack, a smell very similar to tea-tree oil is what greets you.  Personally I don't mind the scent and it fades away after some time so don't worry about it.

The masque itself is pale green in colour and has quite a thick texture.  It dries to a white tight-feeling masque in just about 10 minutes or so.  I managed to get 5 applications out of one pack and each time, I was left with super soft, clear skin. I admit I was experiencing some nasty breakouts lately but this masque has really contributed to clearing them up faster so I am really impressed with this one.

All MJ masques are priced very affordably and are worth a try, if not for their benefits, for their sumptuous smells lol!

Have you tried any masques from MJ? Which ones were they and how did you like them?
