Sheer Elegance

Last Saturday, one of my long-time friends got married to her beau in the very beautiful, marine themed wedding. Since it is scorching hot in July, I went for this gorgeous midnight blue floor-length gown that I had bought from Dorothy Perkins a couple of years ago. The blue and silver combination is what made me fall in love with this dress as well as the sheer pleated skirt. Barely there sandals are one of my preferred shoes styles primarily for their elegance (but not so much for comfort) so of course I paired my dress with this silver number from Aldo Shoes & Accessories.

For makeup, I went for a soft pink and grey combination and my hairdresser surpassed all expectations with a side French braid half up - half down look. Here are some photos we managed to capture in between the church service and the wedding reception.

Event | Aussie Hair Care Launch Party

Last Thursday I was cordially invited to attend the launch of world famous Aussie Hair Care in Malta. First off I want to start by saying the event was a blast and it was very well organized, down the last detail. I would also like to thank VJ Salomone for finally bringing the brand to Malta so we can also have aussome hair ;)

I made my way to The Galley restaurant in Ta' Xbiex where the event was being hosted wearing the closest thing I could find to purple in my summer wardrobe (the dress code on the invite stated '...a touch of purple') since I couldn't find a more purple outfit, I went with purple nails and makeup ;) We were greeted by Marija, the brand manager for Aussie here in Malta and the evening kick-started with some Prosecco and blue potato chips while we got to know the brand better and chatted the night away over some very tasty barbecued food. Remi Hairdressing expertly did some very creative plaits on whoever wished to have their hair done.

Now let's talk Aussie. The Australian brand has been around since 1979 when their 3 Minute Miracle was first launched but the brand's cult favourite status really cemented itself in 2009 when their market expanded to Europe following the UK and as far as Israel and Hong Kong. The brand is mostly about making natural hair feel and look great and in Malta we currently have 23 ranges available all across the island and they will also be available soon on the VJ Salomone online shop as well.

I have already used the Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner given to us during the event and my ends already feel a lot more moisturised and don't look like a haystack in this heat. Remember, there is more to life than hair, but it's a good place to start.

Brand Spotlight | 3ina

Last week, I had some free time and took the opportunity to visit the newly opened 3ina store in Qormi with my shopping partner in crime, Marija. For those who are not so familiar with the area, the shop is located right behind Pavi, next door to Kiabi and there are ample parking spaces available.

The store layout really made a good impression on me - all clean, white, bright and stands bursting with brightly coloured and more muted products alike - it is basically everything you would want a makeup store to look like. We had a thorough browse around the store and although there were a lot of products I wanted to buy, I resisted and bought only two items.

I would like to point out that the salesgirls there are very helpful and I was delighted to see that they are actually very knowledgeable about the brand. I asked if 3ina has been around for long and the salesgirl said that it is a relatively new brand with just a few stores in Italy, Germany, France and Australia and now Malta. For such a 'young' brand, I think it has very good potential from what I gathered from swatching the products at the store.

I look forward to visiting the store again soon!

High - Low

Yesterday afternoon we celebrated my Dad's birthday with lunch at one of our favourite restaurants in Marsascala, Sepia. I always take every opportunity to dress up and wear new clothes and accessories I would have bought not long before.
Yesterday was one such day where I wore a new H&M dress and accessories and paired them with my Diane von Furstenberg 440 Gallery Bitsy Cross Body Bag, hence, high-low dressing ;) I love the cut-out at the back of the dress which gives the illusion of a matching crop top and skirt. I also loved wearing two new lip products from Kiko which lasted all throughout lunch without the need of a touch-up, but more on them in another post ;)

Here are some pictures that my other half captured for me :)
