Verging on Punk - Outfit for Day 2 of MFWA 2017

Yesterday presented a melange of shows from very different designers yet the vibe was somewhere between feminine and god-like with a touch of rebel.

I felt this that this dress from Freeze Frame embodies all that - with it's deep v-neck and bodycon fit, it gives an element of sexiness while the sequined mesh bell sleeves lend it a rather punky vibe. To complete the look I went for this green velvet (same material as the dress) bag from River Island as I felt it really brings out the green colour shift of the sequins. I did the same with the makeup where I opted to blend in green and purple to accentuate the colour shift. Lastly, I wore my Gianvito Rossi plexi pumps to really bring the look together.

MFWA 2016 | freezeFrame by Natasha Meli presents Punk by Sequin

Day 6 of the Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week and Fashion Awards was characterized by a drizzle of rain but that didn't get in the  way of the three shows that ensued - all three of which were a treat for every single person attending the shows.

 

The first show for the night was the Punk by Sequin collection from Freeze Frame Fashion, designed by Natasha Meli. To be honest I wasn't really familiar with this brand but I ended up liking every single piece in her collection and I am now planning a shopping trip to her shop in Sliema (you can also opt to shop online at freezeframefashion.com).

 

The creations in this collection are very reminiscent of the 80's which are definitely back in fashion. Made out of lush sequined fabrics, every piece in this collection is the fruit of Natasha's love of fashion, the years of industry experience and a creative commercial outlook.

 

 

 

 

 

Apart from the fashion items the models paraded in, I really liked the makeup looks doen for this show by Krista Paris and her team. Colourful glitter and sequins adorned the models' faces to further enhance the theme of the collection and complement the big 80's style hair. From stand-out swimwear to dresses for any occasion, here is Punk by Sequin!
