Yesterday night I had the privilege of attending one of the most awaited fashion shows of the Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week & Awards, that being the launch of the S/S '15 collection by designers Charles & Ron.
Personally, I have been following the designers for quite some time now I am always impressed with their work. This year was no exception and they have produced an exquisite collection inspired by our capital city's architectural heritage.
In fact, the name of the collection, 'Humilissima Civitas' is the official name that was given to the city of Valletta by the Order of St. John, literally meaning, 'the most humble city'. Indeed, the city of Valletta is palpable all throughout the collection.
The show took place in one of the oldest buildings in Valletta, Fort St. Elmo, which used to be a guard-point during the times of the Order of St. John here in Malta. On a side note, I was very pleased to see this fort being restored to its former glory.
So, back to the show, the collection consisted of a number of impeccably tailored garments where mint, white, lilac and black were the predominant colours along with a splash of metallic, leather, laser perforations and neon elements. The Triton Fountain and the new parliament building designed by Renzo Piano, both of which stand at the very entrance of Valletta, were the main theme for most outfits.
Apart from clothes, Charles & Ron have also showcased their S/S '15 bag collection, which I have to say is worth coveting.

The make-up for the show was left in the very talented hands of Justin Brincat, hair was coiffed by Alexander's Hairdressing and nails were done by Femme Beauty. Shoes were supplied by Aldo Shoes.
