MFWA 2018 | Day 5 - Individualism, Elegance and Moroccan Vibes | Bata Spasojevic, JasonGrech and Rosemarie Abela

What a night! Wednesday evening was a celebration of pure talent from three different corners of the world - Serbia, Australia and Malta.

Bata Spasojevic - Individual (Serbia)

The night kicked off with Bata Spasojevic and his own fashion brand Individual presenting the Hero Icons collection. The models walked down the runway in monochrome and bright statement pieces adorned with pictures of icons such as Marilyn Monroe and Blondie. The collection features edgy street-wear and more elegant pieces for both men and women.

JASONGRECH - From Malta to Melbourne (Australia)

Next up we were treated to a fantastic show by JASONGRECH all the way from Melbourne, Australia. Jason Grech honoured his family and the traditional Maltese festa held in honour of St.Helen in the charming town of Birkirkara, situated in the heart of our beautiful island. Jason Grech is a highly acclaimed fashion designer in Australia with many a bride and celebrities seeking to be dressed in his beautiful gowns. The show started off with a band playing a traditional march as a model walked down the runway in the most exquisite of dresses bearing the emblem of the St.Helen Band Club which the designer's grandfather used to write . I particularly enjoyed this show for the exquisite designs and high-quality tailoring. My favourite pieces from this collection were without a doubt the gold fringe dress and the white jumpsuit.

Rosemarie Abela - Al Magrib (Malta)

The last show for the night was probably the most anticipated. Rosemarie Abela presented her latest collection entitled Al Magrib (Morocco as referred to in Arabic) which is inspired by the designer's travels to this colourful country. Presenting a palette of cobalt blues, oranges and yellows, this collection is truly reminiscent of this magnificent African country. From small details like the head scarves and the comfortable fits, the majority of the clothes from this collection would be perfect for a holiday in magical Morocco. Rosemarie, you truly outdid yourself!

I look forward to returning to Malta Fashion Week tonight for my final night this year. Be sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram for updates from the shows!
